Dave Durbala

Coach Durbala was a new addition to the club in the fall of 2017.  Dave was an Assistant Coach at Southeastern Community College from 2013-2016.  Coach Durbala is a graduate of Burlington High School where he earned 1st team All-State honors as a Shortstop. After high school, he continued playing baseball at the Jr. College, NCAA Division I and Independent League levels. After his playing career ended, Dave has spent the last 25 year’s coaching players at the elite travel, high school and college levels. Coach Durbala previously held the position of Resident Coach at Sho-Me Baseball Camps in Vero Beach, FL and Reeds Spring, MO.  Coach Durbala also returned to school and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Illinois in 1993. Besides his coaching duties with the Blackhawks, he also was a volunteer assistant softball coach for 5 years at Burlington High School. Coach Durbala resides in Burlington with his wife Tricia and their two children Fischer and Gretchen. Outside of coaching, Dave is employed with the State of Iowa as a Juvenile Probation Officer, working with youth in the Burlington area.
